When we brought Riley home, we thought we had “just the basics”… when, in actuality, we have a lot of stuff that we really didn’t need – or he shouldn’t have. So starting today, I’ll talk from time to time about the good, the GREAT, and the awful!
Collapsible Crate: Priceless! If you have a puppy, I suggest you buy for the size that the puppy will become… and it’s always good to double-check that it will fit into your vehicle before you buy it. The great news about this is that, when you’re done with it, it folds completely flat and can be easily stored.

Most people just toss a blanket in – but I also bought a completely washable fleece crate liner that appears to be somewhat indestructible to puppy chewing… it means a trip to the laundromat (because it won’t fit in our apartment-sized washer) – but it’s been a great comfort and sometime diversion for the little guy. And you can order them in sizes that fit the crates!

If this crate was any more uncomfortable... I hate it (not)!
I cannot stress enough how important crating is – it’s been great for Riley because it gives him his own area, where he can feel secure – and gives me a break from having to watch him 24/7, too! He was pretty much housebroken when we got him (at 10 weeks! Lucky us!), but this has helped reinforce the good behavior. When he’s in, he’s never had an accident!

In case you needed a close-up of cuteness...!!
